Changing lives, one surgery at a time

Established in 2005 by a well-known, board certified Houston plastic surgeon, Dr. Franklin Rose and silhouette artist Cindi Harwood Rose, the Rose Ribbon Foundation provides free reconstructive surgery to post-cancer patients who are not able to afford health insurance.

Several years ago, Cindi Rose's sister, Holly Harwood Skolkin, was diagnosed with breast cancer and told she had three months to live. More than seven years later, Holly is in stable condition and feeling great. After learning of their sister's illness and that more than 45 million such Americans are without health insurance, Dr. Franklin and Cindi Rose made it their mission to help those in need. Today, the Rose Ribbon Foundation, a 501 c 3 organization, underwrites reconstruction for dozens of such patients each year.
